Interaction to Next Paint (INP)

A Core Web Vitals metric that measures how quickly a page responds visually to user interactions such as clicks, taps and key presses.

INP replaced First Input Delay as a Core Web Vital in March 2024. A good INP is 200 milliseconds or less.

Long JavaScript tasks on the main thread are the most common cause of poor INP.
